About PediatricEMR.com

The only EMR review site built specifically for pediatric practices

Who We Are

PediatricEMR.com was founded by a group of practicing pediatricians who grew tired of reading EMR reviews that evaluated software through the lens of internal medicine, orthopedics, or "general practice" while treating pediatric needs as a footnote. Our specialty is fundamentally different: we track immunizations across schedules that change annually, monitor growth with a precision that no other specialty demands, screen for developmental concerns at nearly every visit, and manage a communication dynamic that involves treating one person while counseling another. We deserve EMR reviews that understand these realities.

Our review team includes pediatricians from private practices, academic medical centers, and community health centers across the United States. We bring a diversity of practice settings and perspectives to our evaluations, ensuring that our reviews reflect the full range of pediatric practice realities rather than a single viewpoint. Every reviewer is a practicing physician who uses EMR software daily in the care of children, and our collective experience spans decades of pediatric practice and multiple technology transitions.

How We Review

We deliberately do not assign numeric scores or rank platforms into a top-ten list. We tried scoring early on and abandoned it, because a single number hides exactly the information a practice needs: a platform that is superb at immunizations and weak at parent communication is not "an 8.4," it is the right choice for one practice and the wrong choice for the one across town. Instead, every review works through the same set of pediatric workflows and reports what we found, plainly:

We test each platform with standardized clinical scenarios drawn from the daily work of pediatric practice, from documenting a 2-month well-child visit to generating an immunization catch-up schedule for an internationally adopted child with an incomplete vaccination history. When a platform wins a category, we say so and explain why. When a tool we otherwise like has a real weakness, we say that too.

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing honest, detailed, and practically useful reviews that help pediatric practices make informed technology decisions. Our reviews are independent, and our recommendations reflect our genuine clinical assessment of each platform's strengths and limitations for pediatric use. We believe that pediatricians deserve technology that understands our specialty, and we will continue to hold EMR vendors accountable to that standard.

If you are a pediatrician with experience using an EMR platform we have reviewed (or one we have not yet covered), we welcome your perspective. Our reviews are stronger when they reflect the collective experience of our community, and we are always looking to expand the range of voices and practice settings represented in our evaluations.
